Priorities

I have no time for God today,
To read His Word, nor yet to pray.
I’m building structure in my life;
I’ll seek God when I have less strife.

I have six classes to attend,
And work that seems to have no end.
Chaotic winds are all I get
Without the walls my schedules set.

I have a Bible class at two;
For devotions that will do.
For the pounding rain and sleet
My support is friends I meet.

At church this evening, I will pray;
Now I have torrents to allay.
Social media and memes
Keep me quite dry from rain, it seems.

I’ve built my life quite well, I’d say;
The base will come another day.
My A’s and B’s I’ve kept quite well;
In knowing God, I’d say I failed.
