Hello, Inkwell readers! Our final issue of the semester, “Lucid” is fast approaching, and we’re delighted to offer you a little sneak peak through Joy Hast’s poem, “Genesis.”

When we hear the word “lucid,” we can easily imagine it as a kind of clarity of mind, and that’s a reasonable interpretation. But what if being lucid meant more? In her poem, Joy pulls the reader into a series of snapshots that zero in on the moment the earth gained form and being, the moment creation was suffused with light born from the ultimate Source.
