Hello Inkwell Readers! We made it through Hurricane Helene and are excited to give you a sneak peek to our next issue: Flurry. While wind uprooted trees and took down power lines, our writers will show us what "Flurry" and the power of the wind means to them. We are thrilled to give a peek to next week's issue through "Fight Flight Freeze" by Olivia Best.
It's easy to explain a picture to someone, but how can we use those words to make them feel what we feel? How can we suck the reader into our words and hold them in that trance? Olivia Best uses her words in a powerful way to make us experience her thoughts. She touches each of our senses to communicate her take on "Flurry."
When we are overwhelmed with situations, do we freeze? Do we flee? We can feel the eerie silence crawling over us as we sit– hoping to escape it by remaining stationary. We hope you enjoy Olivia Best's poem and check back next week, October 18th, for the full issue of "Flurry."
