A Light clothed once in darkness,
A Hope put once to death,
A Faith that once was shaken,
A God who had no breath,
A moan among the angels,
A tremor in the earth,
And mortals crying, “All’s forsaken,
And life no more has worth.”
A promise that was given
Yet never understood
Until full sight revealed it,
The living Son of God:
A Light that shines in darkness,
A Hope greater than death,
A Faith that’s never shaken,
A God who gives life breath,
Who takes people who are broken—
Those proud of all their shards
And selfish with the cracked space
They hoard inside their hearts—
And transforms them into vessels
To hold eternity and light,
To reflect His awesome glory
And to prove His wondrous might.
