I gaze up to the scorching sun,
And it’s burning down upon
The stones that lay so still and fragile
Until the night is come.
Not a whisper to be heard by night,
Or a hand to hold by day.
Oh, how a single drop of water could
Cease the earth’s decay!
Not a day goes by that i think of her,
Or a night which i refuse to pray.
Mine eyes have seen, and ears have heard
Of a world gone astray.
Yet, all my heart will ever do
Is that which is never enough.
So still and fragile as a stone,
I wait until the night is done.
Yet, how a single drop of water
Could cease the earth's decay.
