Some Days
Some days,
It’s the way the sun shines through the window
And seems to bounce back up.
Some days it’s the way the coffee smells,
Or the way the china clinks,
Or the way my sheets feel wrapped around my legs.
Some days it’s the way people remember me on the sidewalk,
Or when a person gives up their seat for another,
Or when a person pays for someone’s drink without ever meeting them.
Some days it’s the way the colors seem to dance,
And the music seems to twirl,
And the world stops to let me breathe this all in and back out again,
And it’s these kinds of days that I realize—
It’s happening…
I’m finally happy.
