Limerick Contest

There once was a journal named Inkwell
Which had an announcement to tell
A contest for all

Sure to be a ball
Of limericks sure to be swell!

A light humorous or nonsensical verse of five usually anapestic lines with the rhyme scheme aabba, in which the first, second, and fifth lines are in trimeter, and the third and fourth lines are in dimeter.

Inkwell Literary Magazine is proud to announce our first poetry contest! In honor of St. Patrick’s day, we’re looking for your funniest, cheesiest limericks. We’ll post each one on social media anonymously for our readers to vote for their favorites!
The contest will end at 5:00 pm on St. Patrick’s day, March 17th, where we will announce our winning poems and their writers.

To submit your lyrical limericks, email your entry to social@inkwellmagazine.com or send it in a direct message on our Instagram or Facebook page.
To vote for your favorites, send in the number of your favorite poems to social@inkwellmagazine.com or through direct message. You can vote for multiple poems, but only once for each poem.

We can’t wait to see your limericks! Submit your entry today.
